These thoughts kept me awake. I read the whole of Matthew 24 and 25 on the coming of Jesus and the pending doomsday, pestilence, etc.
What should be our response in this hour, these days? Bind? Cast out? What else have we not done?
Why did this pandemic take the whole world by surprise? Even the early whistleblowers of the plague like Dr. Li Wenliang were mocked and threatened and died helping patients in Wuhan.
Why has the Lord withheld this from many, even the great ones, the seers, the leaders?
Why is sight dimmed like Eli?
Did the Lord not say “in the last day your sons and daughters shall prophesy and see visions?”
Have we kicked the Holy Spirit out of our midst and trust in our beliefs?
Why has the Lord hidden these things from the high and mighty?
Where’s the light in my Church? Where is the Holy Spirit in my Church? Says the Lord. Turn ye at my reproach.
We all have gone our different ways, seeking after things that gentiles seek, comparing one to another and boasting in these things.
The Lord does not save by horses, nor chariots. Wherewith will our possession save us, except the Lord?
Fiery moment! For the day of the Lord is here as spoken in Habakkuk 3:2-9 (NKJV), more vividly of this season.
“O Lord , I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord , revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy. God came from Teman, The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah
His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise. His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden. Before Him went pestilence, And fever followed at His feet. He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.
I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
O Lord , were You displeased with the rivers, Was Your anger against the rivers, Was Your wrath against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, Your chariots of salvation?
Your bow was made quite ready; Oaths were sworn over Your arrows. Selah. You divided the earth with rivers.”
Pestilence (Coronavirus). Fever (one of the symptoms of the virus). Midian (economic powers). Rivers (national and global trade routes).
Lord, have Mercy on us! Revive us in the midst of the years.
The remaining parts of the scriptures are in Habakkuk 3:10-14.
“The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing of the water passed by. The deep uttered its voice, And lifted its hands on high. The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear. You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, By laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah. You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger. You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For salvation with Your Anointed.
You struck the head from the house of the wicked, By laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah.
You thrust through with his own arrows The head of his villages. They came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; Their rejoicing was like feasting on the poor in secret.”
Lord have mercy for the sake of the Elect!
One thing we must instruct ourselves is to search ourselves.
Am I in faith? Has my heart departed from the Lord? Is my heart still burning with the same fire from the day I met the Lord until date? Have I Ioved this present earth more than meeting the Lord? Has my heart quietly departed from panting after the Lord? Where’s the anchor of my soul? In my prayers? In my leaders? In my pastors? In my church? In my wisdom? In my clique? In my position? Is the Lord my salvation?
This is the season to clean our hearts. The time to seek the Lord. To humble our hearts and return to Him. It is time to renew the relationship with Him. Fellowship! Fellowship with me, I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying.
1 Chronicles 21:16
“Then David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, having in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. So David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.”
May the Lord turn our hearts to Him afresh and make us His inheritance forever. May He turn the hearts of many to Him and save as much as He has ordained across the globe.
Have mercy O Lord. Revive us in the midst of this plague!
