The Lord at Mount Carmel: Prove your Power!

The Lord rode furiously upon Mount Carmel. A great contest of who the Lord of the Heavens and Earth is!

And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.” 1 Kings 18:21.

“Bring them to my mountain. Let them declare if they are mine. Let them declare if I have sent them. Let them roar and cry in their bosom. Let them decree a thing.

For I the Lord sits on my throne and incline my ears to the earth to behold crying from the earth. Let them speak if I have sent them. Let them utter their words. For their words are stout towards me.

I have in the days of old spoken that I will honour them that honour me. They have departed from my ways. They have corrupted their ways with fillings of the earth; they have declared “the Lord does not see like a man”.

I have risen in my anger and have declared to this generation that yeah I shake once again the heavens and the earth that I may reveal my power and my majesty. That I may separate the wheat from the shaft.

Who can behold my fiery days?

They have sacrificed to idols and says “the Lord does not see”. They have hunted the souls of my people and they say “the Lord has made us a shepherd over them”. They have served injustice in my court and prefer persons of their choice. They have closed the gates to the hungry; to the poor. Therefore, they shall cry and I shall not hear them for their hearts are hardened to give justice.

Behold what I have against my shepherds. They are wolves. They are. Vipers spitting fires that are not from me. They are familiar spirits luring away the souls of my people. I will spit them out, says the Lord.

Come to my mountain and declare your power. For they are no more. Anguish in their bones. For they say, ” We shall rise again and do as of before and command those things to come to pass.” For wherewith shall your power come from? For I the Lord has rejected you, giving my powers to those that I seek not but whose hearts draw close to me. To the children of my bosom. The child of my old.

I have raised them for these hours to show forth my power.

I have rejected thee for you have rejected me the Most High. Your shame comes speedily.

Speak to the dead and bring from grave. For who commands when the Lord has not spoken. Declare your justification.”

1 Kings 18: 36 to 39

36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!

Revelation 2: 18 to 29

18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write,

‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

24 “Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. 25 But hold fast what you have till I come. 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—

27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron;
They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star.

29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Isaiah 8:19‭-‬22 NKJV
And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward. Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.

May the Lord keep our hearts close to His.
